Dynamic Lights is a modification for Minecraft 1.16.5 that allows glowing items such as torches, glowstone, fireflies, lit pumpkins, redstone, lava buckets, and charged minecarts to illuminate the area when they are in the player's hands or lying on the ground. The modification works by quickly placing and removing air and water blocks that emulate a light source. However, there are a few limitations: only full water blocks can emit dynamic lights, not waterfalls or incomplete river blocks. The mod also will not work if the light source is inside any block, such as leaves or cobwebs.
The mod is a standard mod that needs to be present on both the client and server when playing online. Currently, only the light player and dropped item modules are implemented, and there is no on/off toggle button.
You can add any item ID you want as a glowing item through the configuration file. Additionally, the mod supports armor items! You are not limited in the number of light sources, but they can be quite taxing on FPS. You can disable modules to gain better performance.
