Regarding complaints about lags: this mod fundamentally requires rebuilding the affected chunks (i.e., the geometry needs to be recalculated and sent to the GPU), the problem is that rebuilding the chunk demands high computational power, and in versions 1.17/1.18 the situation has worsened. OptiFine partially addresses this issue by performing certain actions with the renderer, which this mod cannot do. So, what possible solutions are there? Try using Sodium (with delayed chunk updates), and if performance is still low, then I really don't know what can be done. There is another possible solution that I should try, but I cannot guarantee that it will solve the problem. Another solution is to rewrite the mod partially using a shader approach. This will take time and doesn't guarantee compatibility with other mods. And, unfortunately, I don't have enough time, and to be honest, the shader approach is very complex. It brings many technical difficulties. The mod has been recently optimized, but for now, it seems like a hopeless task, and I can't guarantee that I will ever get around to using shaders. E
