Starlight is a mod for Minecraft that modifies the lighting engine to address performance issues and lighting bugs. This mod is compatible with Minecraft 1.20 and makes changes to the lighting engine. Mojang developers have improved their own lighting engine by using key elements from Starlight that are critical for enhancing performance. This allows for closing the performance gap and making Starlight redundant on the client side. The Starlight mod can be installed on a dedicated server or client. It is not necessary to install it on both sides.
