Tinkers Complement is a mod designed to add features to Tinkers Construct in a modular way, providing mod compatibility and features that will assist with mod packs. Currently, this mod is released only for version 1.12.2. I plan to update it to a later version in the future, which will either be 1.18.2 or something beyond. However, since I am also the lead developer of Tinkers Construct, this mod is on hold until all features in the main mod are completed. This mod will likely differ significantly if it ever gets updated.
Special features that will be carried over:
- Bucket cast: unlikely to be included as it was situational and can be easily added with a custom items mod.
- Melter: merged into Tinkers Construct. May add a warped version in this mod, at most.
- Alloy Tank: merged into Tinkers Construct as the alloying block. May add a melted version in this mod, at most.
- Porcelain Casting: unlikely to be included as blocking the smeltery controller seems better than blocking melted bricks.
- High Oven: the main feature of the mod, will be expanded with new recipes.
- Chisel Chisel: unlikely to be included as Chisel does not exist in 1.18.2.
- Ex Nihilo Hammer: already available in any Ex Nihilo fork that kids are using today.
The mod adds a new block called melter, which functions similarly to a smeltery. It can melt ores and ingots into molten metals that can then be used for casting. Unlike the smeltery, it does not double the amount of ore and can only hold one liquid at a time, preventing alloying. The melter can be powered with a lava tank or using a new block called heater, which runs on oven fuel at a lower temperature. Both of these blocks are designed for the early game and allow modpack creators to fine-tune the progression of Tinkers Construct.
Another feature of the mod is the alloy tank - a new block used for creating alloys in Tinkers Construct. It is designed for easier automation compared to the smeltery and provides an option to block alloying at the cost of additional fuel consumption. For alloying to occur, the block must have a heater or seared tank with lava placed below to provide fuel. Up to five seared tanks or melters can be installed on the other sides of the block as sources of molten liquid. Additionally, the alloy tank can be disabled by sending a redstone signal to it.
