Functions

• Lanterns and torches burn out over time. This is the main feature of the mod. Torches are created from a certain amount of fuel, which eventually runs out, while lanterns are created empty and can be filled with a lamp. You can configure the lifespan of torches and lanterns and much more.
• Lanterns and torches burn even in your inventory. This option is disabled by default. If enabled, lit torches and lanterns will lose fuel even while in your inventory.
• Torches can be created unlit. This option is disabled by default. If this feature is enabled, torches are created unlit and must be placed down and lit with flint and steel, a lit torch, etc. You can also right-click a campfire or lit torch to light it by hand. You can configure which items can light the torch by overriding block and item tags.
• Torches drop sticks when they break. You can configure this to drop lit torches, like vanilla ones, drop unlit torches, burnt torches, or sticks.
• Torches will smolder in the rain. If your torches are left out in the rain, they will start to smolder and give off very little light, while consuming fuel at 1/3 speed. Alternatively, you can configure them to extinguish completely and not use fuel, or to completely ignore the rain.
• Lanterns are created unlit. You kill animals to get animal fat, and then craft it with a lamp to fill it. Then you refill your lanterns with the lamp and light them with flint and steel. You can configure them to just use coal.
• Lanterns can be moved. You can easily break a lantern to pick it up, or sneak up and right-click to do the same. It retains its burning state and fuel.
• World generation has been altered. Lanterns and torches that are generated in the world in this mod are replaced with their equivalents.
• (Forge only) Support for Lucent and Curios . Lucent provides default support for all emissive blocks and items. However, if you install Curios in addition to Lucent, you can place a lit lantern in a belt slot and light your way while walking. The third-person player lantern model is planned but not yet implemented.
